Meet the Team

Clive Ward: Proprietor

Hailing originally from Brisbane, having 50 years of riding experience and with a 22 model Yamaha WR250F, Yamaha Tenere 700, 07 Suzuki VStrom 650, and a restored 1993 KLX650 in his shed, Clive Ward is ready and experienced to work on all Japanese and most European motorcycles. Clive has extensive knowledge of Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and KTM Motorcycles. His experience also extends to late model fuel injected Husqvarna and Triumph motorcycles and is a K-tech, Teknik and Racetech authorised suspension dealer and installer.

 Clive has completed all the Racetech suspension training seminars at their HQ in Corona California USA. He can provide expert tuning services and upgrades to suspension systems, using quality products from K-tech, Teknik, Racetech, YSS, Nitron and Ohlins

He provides advice on motorcycle preparation full suspension set-ups and mechanical inspection services along with all service, repair and tuning needs for your Motorcycle.

His skills extend beyond repairs to writing technical articles on repairing and servicing Motorcycles with techo talk in issues of Bike Business Magazine, Trailrider and is the current Technical Editor for Australian Adventure Bike Magazine. You might have noticed him making guest appearances in TrailZone magazine prior to this appointment, often providing sweep rider back up and mechanical assistance on the many reader rides and currently on Tenere Tragics events.

He started his apprenticeship in Canberra in 1985 and qualified in three years with no less than twenty-one TAFE distinctions and was a finalist for Apprentice of the Year.
Still eager to learn he returned to TAFE at night to complete fuel injection, Advanced Tuning and LPG courses in the following two years. Fuel injection became his focus and he concentrated on developing skills and understanding of the various systems and now includes all electronic systems appearing on modern motorcycles.

In August 2012 Clive completed his Cert IV in Training and Assessment.

Clive has also completed the Motorcycle Suspension Schools "Suspension Dyno" course to maximise the expertise he can provide when using the company's CTW suspension dyno which arrived in Dec 2017

Jen Hogan: Mechanic

Jen originally from South West Sydney, started in the Motorcycle industry at 16 and worked for several companies including Yamaha Australia before moving North to the Hunter Valley in 2018, Joining Motorcyclebiz in July 2020.  Jen is an accomplished MX and enduro racer having raced Hattah, AORC events and many MX events including some overseas in the USA at Glen Helen raceway and some desert events.  Her precise methodical approach makes Jen an excellent engine rebuilder, service tech and suspension tech.  

Joey Scale: apprentice 

Joey is originally from Victoria, now resides in Bulahdelah. Joey started his apprenticeship at Motorcyclebiz in May 2023 and has rapidly taken to the trade. Joey having come runner up in World skills in NSW will shortly be contesting the nationals.  Joey races enduro and MX with his favourite race being cross country
